Reno Drusilla and Topper enjoying the nice weather. |
Hello, my name is Danielle and these are my rabbits. And of course my keeper of the bunnies Reno, a Shetland
Sheepdog. How could I forget him? Tehe, did I mention my husband Tim? He's a huge helper and breeds Mini
Rex (his main breed) and BEW Polish (his 2nd breed) as well. I have been showing and breeding rabbits since I
was 8 years old and I am a 4th generation rabbit raiser, and member of ARBA. Tim has recently joined me in the rabbit
world in the past year breeding Polish with his lines from Midnights and Chuck at CC&L and Lee from Papryus rabbitry.
I also have been training dogs for obedience since I was 9 and have been handling various breeds in the AKC for about 5
years.
Here at the House of Mavens we breed first for temperament and second for intelligence, and finally for
show. I feel that you can't have a show rabbit unless it has the correct temperament and is very intelligent. It needs
to know to behave on the show table (no visiting others or annoying the judge) and it also needs to be able to learn to stack
and hold its pose. All my rabbit know their names and what I call "basic bunny obedience comands" such as stay,
stop and come. The show rabbits here know the word stack as well, since you have to stack them on the show table.
Well I shall stop blabbing and let you have a look at mine and Tims fur children. Hope you enjoy your visit!
E-mail me at Mavensnd@yahoo.com with any comments or suggestions you may have or if you would like more information on getting
a rabbit or rabbits and dogs in general.
